Pathway to Excellence
At the upper echelon of Ringette, there is a pathway to excellence in officiating. The best games require an officiating team working at the top of their game. The individuals selected to work these games are prepared. They have the experience and knowledge to succeed at this level. On-ice officials are physically and mentally conditioned for the level of play, while off-ice officials are mentally conditioned for long days and extreme focus.
The gravity of these games and events insists that the officiating teams are selected by a qualified team of evaluators led by Ringette Canada's Officiating Lead.
Under the purview of Ringette Canada, the officiating teams for the following games and events are selected:

NRL
The National Ringette League plays a combination of hubs and solo games throughout the regular season. Ringette Canada's Officiating Lead selects the On-ice Officials, Shot Clock Officials, and Supervisors for these events, following a self-identification process. Officials who want to participate in these events must identify themselves before the start of the season.
At a minimum, On-ice Officials must have a 4-U16 rank. Supervisors must be certified as Level 4 Evaluators.
CRC
Canadian Ringette Championships are the culmination of the highest AA performance each year. Ringette Canada's Officiating Lead, with the support of a selection workgroup, selects the On-ice Officials, Shot Clock Officials, and Supervisors for this event each season, following a self-identification process. Officials who want to participate in these events must identify themselves during the self-identification window.
At a minimum, On-ice Officials must have a 4-U16 rank. Supervisors must be certified as Level 4 Evaluators.


CWG
Canada Winter Games are the best of Canadian Ringette, and selection is reserved for the top 5% of officials. CWG occurs every four years.
Ringette Canada's Officiating Lead, with the support of a selection workgroup, selects the On-ice Officials, Shot Clock Officials, and Supervisors for this event, following a self-identification process. Officials who want to participate in these events must identify themselves during the self-identification window. They must also commit to certain training and participation requirements leading up to the games.
At a minimum, On-ice Officials must have a 4-U19 rank. Supervisors must be certified as Level 4 Evaluators, with regular attendance and selection to the CRC.
WRC
The World Ringette Championship is the ultimate assignment for the competitive official.
Ringette Canada's Officiating Lead, with the support of a selection workgroup, selects the On-ice Officials, Shot Clock Officials, and Supervisors for this event, following a self-identification process. Officials who want to participate in these events must identify themselves during the self-identification window. They must also commit to certain training and participation requirements leading up to the games.
At a minimum, On-ice Officials must have a 4-U19 rank. Supervisors must be certified as Level 4 Evaluators, with regular attendance and selection to the CRC.


La Relève
La Relève is a development camp for on-ice officials held in tandem with Team Canada camps. It offers officials working towards selection for CRC, CWG, and WRC an opportunity to experience targeted development in important officiating characteristics.
