Certification Pathways

Technical officials, such as On-ice, Shot Clock, and Time & Score Keeping Officials, who resource games under Ringette Canada are certified through training and performance pathways established under the NOCP. Certification ensures that technical officials possess a base technical knowledge and demonstrate performance consistent with the game levels at which they work.

Ringette Canada defines the certification requirements of all technical officials and designs programming and training content for delivery. In partnership with the Provinces, Ringette Canada delivers education, trains Evaluators and Instructor Facilitators, and ensures a robust evaluation program to see every On-ice official receive an evaluation and directed, individual coaching each season.

The NOCP identifies Certification Pathways under six silos:

  1. On-ice Officials
  2. Shot Clock Officials
  3. Time & Score Keeping Officials
  4. Evaluators/Supervisors (On-ice Officials)
  5. Evaluators/Supervisors (Shot Clock Officials)
  6. NOCP Instructor Facilitators
